LOOK TO THE HORIZON
The horizon always pushes forward, leaving space for us to take new steps towards an ever changing future. We all share the same space in this world, but everyone looks upon a different horizon. This has become the inspiration behind the development of Horizon Dressage, and the principles that we strive for in all aspects of our riding, teaching, training, and showing. It is important to understand the goals, desires, and facilities that we have in order to surpass our own perceived limitations. If we cannot first move beyond what limits us as a person, rider, trainer, or teacher, we cannot begin to connect, understand, and benefit our equine partner the same.

TRAINING
Our training incorporates all aspects of horsemanship, as we firmly believe that your relationship begins from the second you step foot in the stall. We build our communication from stall to saddle, to develop a clear and consistent guidance from the beginning. This is why we don't use grooms, so that we can always form a clear assessment of the horse from the first minute of interaction, which allows us to be completely in tune with our equine partner.
LESSONS
We utilize all aspects of our routine to provide teachable moments to clients that are seeking to be knowledgable in all areas of horse handling and ownership. This means we offer lessons from the ground up, literally. From knowledge of farriery, to grooming and clipping, ground work, nutrition, riding, and show prep, we believe it is hugely important to have a well-rounded education to be the best advocate for your horses' needs.
SHOWING
Located in a strong region for dressage showing, we are fortunate to have many options of chapters and show facilities within an easy travel distance. Alyssa is continuing to pursue her competitive goals, and showing will be an active aspect of our program available to all students. Whatever your personal goals, showing can be an important opportunity for learning and feedback to help everyone with their progression.
FAMILY BUSINESS
Meet Brianna
This program cannot function without it's other half to provide additional perspective. That is why Alyssa enlists the assistance of her wife, Brianna, to fill in the gaps. Brianna has an extensive history as a junior hunter/jumper from the east coast, and she also attended Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre where she expanded her education to include classical dressage, massage therapy, equine breeding, training, and extensive farrier experience. She provides much needed insight into our effort to cross train, equine and rider biomechanics, nutrition, and is a certified instructor of farriery. You'll recognize her bright, bubbly and cheerful smile immediately whenever she's at the barn.
